Dry ingredients (sugar, salt, 2 cups of flour, and yeast) are mixed together in a large mixing bowl. Add shortening, eggs, flour, melted butter, and water. Cover with a dish towel and let it sit in a warm place for 20 minutes. Pat the dough out into a rectangle and cut into squares with a pizza cutter. Place each roll into a greased 9×13 baking dish and cover them with a towel and bake.
Make the vinegar slaw by adding vinegar and sugar to a cabbage mixture and stir for a few hours or overnight before serving. Handle the cabbage mixture to make juice over time.
