My family LOVES peanut butter. No matter what I cook all week long, we still manage to go through a large jar of peanut butter just about every week. It’s just one of their favorite treats! So today I thought I’d bring you a collection of peanut butter recipes on SouthernPlate.com. I’ve got many more that I’ll eventually get up here but these are the ones I’ve posted thus far.  Look for more peanut butter recipes in the future!

If you or someone you know has peanut butter allergies, see the bottom of this post for some great tips on making all of these recipes allergy friendly.

We need a song to start this post off…

A peanut sat on a railroad track, his heart was all a flutter!

Along came a choo choo train (CHOO! CHOO!)

Peeeaaanut butter!

Creamy Peanut Butter Fruit Dip

The thing we probably eat the most of next to peanut butter is apples. My Katy Rose loves sliced apples as an after dinner treat and she usually has at least one or two a day. This dip is a special surprise for a kid’s party, barbecue, family get together, or just a nice after school snack. It keeps well in the fridge, too.

No Bake Cafeteria Peanut Butter Bars

We had these in elementary school and just loved them. They are the pre-curser to the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and so very good!

Check out Tricia Hodge’s version she made of them using Sun Butter, which is an alternative to peanut butter for those with allergies, by clicking here.

Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Pie

A restaurant favorite comes home. This post also includes a story about how my amazing Grandaddy lived his life after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

A Really Good Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe

I have three peanut butter cookie recipes that I rotate whenever I’m in the mood to make them but this one is just about my favorite. I love how they are thick and hearty, but still have a delicate crumb.

Peanut Butter Fudge Iced Brownies

HELLO! Brownies with peanut butter fudge icing. Do I really need to say more?

Peanut Butter No Bake Bites

These are the old fashioned no bake cookies so many of our Mama’s used to make in a pot on the stovetop.

How to make Peanut Butter Balls

I make about two hundred of these at a time and still can’t seem to keep them. I store them in the freezer and they are a great protein packed snack that the kids (and my husband) love. Packed with peanut butter, dried milk, oats, and honey, they’ve been a long time family favorite.

Yellow Cake with Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Icing

This cake is very special to me and I wrote about why on the post. So many folks have fond memories of this type of cake growing up.

Peanut Butter Cake from Scratch with Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Icing

A special guest post from a dear family friend where she shares her grandmother’s recipe!

For those with peanut butter allergies, check out my friend Tricia Hodge’s list of recipes she has adapted using Sun Butter on her HodgePodge Mom blog by clicking here.

I love Tricia’s blog, especially her homeschooling tips and posts – and I don’t even homeschool!

  1. These recipes sound so wonderful. I’ve always been a fiend for peanut butter in any way shape or form, it’s my “fav”. My sons still like it now that they’re grown men. Thanks so much for giving us all these new ways to use it.

  2. Christy, I love this post first you had me laughing, and then you had me drooling and now I got to go bake something after this. Thanks for this post and have a great day. Love ya!

  3. I am allergic to peanuts in any form so I have stumbled upon sunbutter recently and found i love it. I plan to make the no bake peanut butter bars, they sound so good. I read somewhere that when using sunbutter cut bake on baking soda in recipes calling for it or your final product will have a green color.
    Have a blessed day!
