  1. Grandma Taylor used to make Pull Sugar Candy and she always let me help. Hard as I try, I still haven’t made it as perfect as hers even though I make it the same way she did. ……..There was just something about Grandma’s touch !

  2. Change comes to mind, my grandma never seemed to mind when something else had to be done. She always let us bring our friends for Sunday dinner and nobody ever left hungry..I always wondered how she was able to do this.

  3. Never knew one of my Grand Ma’s and the other one well this is what I can do she didn’t I love my Grand Daughter to pieces, and my children, my Grand Mother had 4 children and 12 grand children and she really disliked children.

  4. My grandfather would resole our shoes and put on new heals using his shoemaking equipment in the basement. My grandmother would collect wool coats and make hooked rugs. She was a great cook and seamstress too. She took me to a factory in New Glarus, WI that made beautiful fabrics and lace, then went home and made my wedding dress for me.

  5. My Grandparents were pioneers in Oklahoma. My Grandfather built a dugout on their land claim and my Grandmother gave birth to their first child in the dugout. A Doctor came to the difficult birth and broke the baby’s leg in delivery. A cigar box with 2 holes in it kept the babies leg straight until it healed. They lived on that land through WW1, the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. They grubbed in the dirt year after year until better times came. They raised 3 daughters who became professional women. No running water, no electricity and no plumbing! I couldn’t do even one of those things!

  6. I cannot duplicate some of the Grandmother’s recipes (x2and 2 Great Grandmothers) as they used lard and with a hubs who has high cholesterol its impossible ! Their shortcuts and a pinch of this and a pinch of that … never mind !! hahahahahah
