This contest is now closed. Congratulations to Carolyn Noblet, whose name was chosen at random to win!

My kids are huge PB&J folks. When we were dating, my husband lived on them, literally. He kept a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a jar of jelly in his desk drawer and that is what he ate – every single day.

Of course, since we got married he has had a lot more variety in his diet – but I still find him in the kitchen late at night several times a week making his favorite snack. Today, in celebration of Ricky’s love of jelly and Smucker’s love of family, I’ve teamed up with Smucker’s to offer one lucky person a huge gift basket filled with an assortment of Smucker’s products and more!

Contest closes at midnight Saturday, March 10th. Winner will be chosen at random and notified via email. Winner will also be announced on
this post and on The Southern Plate Family Facebook page.

Disclaimer: I have not been financially compensated for this post and I don’t eat nearly as much jelly as my husband and kids do.

  1. Nothing beats some Smuckers jam or jelly on a warm buttermilk biscuit for breakfast (or anytime of day)!

  2. My sweet husband would love for me to win this. Might even make him sweeter….nah.

  3. I, too, enjoy a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a tall, cold glass of milk! But, when it comes to jellies and jams, I must say my mind drifts back to my childhood days of my time with my grandmother. She would often make a snack of jelly (or jam) and butter sandwiches. (I bet Paula Deen knows about these with her love of butter!) One year, my mother received a Christmas basket of jams and jellies with the cutest creamer and sugar bowl set. It has blackberries and raspberries on it. I asked my mom if I could have it one day, and that c&s set is safely displayed in my china hutch today. When I see it there, it brings a smile upon my face to cross back over the years and remember that wonderful Christmas basket. Now, I think I’ll go and make myself a sandwich, but which do I choose…peanut butter and jelly or a jelly and butter sandwich?
