Forkful of slow cooker angel chicken pasta.

I have my friend, Gricelda (who is not a Disney princess although her name leads you to believe that) to thank for sharing this easy slow cooker angel chicken pasta recipe with me. She had been kind enough to cook this wonderful supper for my family (maybe she is a Disney princess, after all). I was thrilled to discover that Gricelda cooks this angel chicken pasta in the crockpot AND and it easily makes enough for a hungry family!

If the ease of this recipe doesn’t tempt you, let me tell you what ingredients are involved. Our moist and tender chicken breast is cooked in only the creamiest and tastiest sauce. Y’all, I LOVE this sauce. It’s so flavorful and made with a combination of Italian dressing, chicken broth, mushroom soup, and cream cheese. Then we serve this on a bed of angel hair pasta (hence the name, although the sauce is pretty angelic too).

As with most slow cooker recipes, the instructions for this crock pot angel chicken pasta couldn’t be simpler. Are you ready? Place the chicken in the slow cooker, then mix together the sauce ingredients in a saucepot before pouring it over the top. Then walk away and let the crockpot do its thing. At the end of the day, all you need to do is cook the angel hair pasta and serve. Simple, easy, and delicious… just how I like it!

Storage

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop.
  • You can also freeze leftovers for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating as above.

Recipe Notes

  • A word about the sauce. Gricelda doubles the sauce in her angel chicken so there is plenty to serve atop the pasta, kind of like you do with spaghetti. We LOVED it exactly how she made it so I am bringing you her recipe with double the sauce.
  • To make this low-carb and gluten-free slow cooker angel chicken pasta, use a gluten-free Italian seasoning and gluten-free mushroom soup and use shirataki noodles or zoodles instead of angel hair pasta.
  • Here are some easy substitutions and variations you can make to make this angel chicken pasta suit you and your family:
    • If you’re not a fan of angel hair pasta, substitute it for your favorite pasta. You can also serve it with rice.
    • The original recipe uses dry white wine instead of chicken stock. Another option is sherry.
    • Use softened chive and onion cream cheese instead of original cream cheese.
    • Substitute the mushroom soup for cream of chicken soup.
    • Swap the dry Italian dressing mix for dry ranch dressing mix for a different flavor.
    • Use chicken tenderloins or boneless skinless chicken thighs instead, but reduce the cooking time by an hour or so (5 to 6 hours on low).
    • Add sliced mushrooms or fresh green beans to the crockpot.
    • Top with shredded parmesan cheese before serving.
    • Add a tablespoon of chopped fresh chives or garnish with chopped parsley.

No, there’s no need to flip chicken when cooking it in a crockpot.

What do you serve with slow cooker angel chicken pasta?

Serve your angel chicken pasta with a simple green salad, some steamed vegetables like fresh green beans or zucchini and squash, or some garlic bread to soak up that creamy sauce.

  1. I’m not a fan of mushroom soup – what else could I use? I thought about chicken soup but then thought it should be something different… Any suggestions?

  2. The chicken is in the crockpot and the sauce is heating on the stove as I type this. So excited to try a new recipe for my family! More later this evening ….

    1. Me again. This filled my kitchen with the most wonderful smell all day, and it did not disappoint when suppertime rolled around. This was my first time making it but most definitely will not be the last. I did fix rice instead of pasta, simply because my family prefers rice with chicken dishes (that, and the fact that we had spaghetti over the weekend). I am serving it up with baby butter beans, sliced tomatoes, and garlic toast. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

  3. I fixed this recipe last night for guests and everyone liked it very much. It is a very tasty dish and ohhhhhh so easy to fix in the Crockpot. It does make a large amount which is nice when you are having a large group to cook for. I think next time I may try using noodles rather than the pasta. Since I was short of time yesterday just before my company arrived and I knew this in advance, I fixed the sauce the day before and reheated it just before serving it last night and that worked great. This recipe is definitely a “keeper.” Thanks again for a wonderful, tasty dish, Christy.

      1. Hi my name is Kelly and I was just wondering would it still taste good if I added some vegetables like broccoli carrots and some more mushrooms?

  4. WOW……this is so good, but very rich and boy does it make a lot. I was so short on time so I used rotisserie chicken. I just mixed the sauce up heated it on the stove top then put chicken in and heated slowly in microwave.
I used the Herb & Garlic dry salad mix and boy if you like garlic you’ll love this…
and I used the fettuccini noodles. I’ll make this again for sure. If you’re salt sensitive you might want to use only 1 pkg. of the dry salad mix.
I did thin my sauce down a tiny bit because it was more like gravy so I used 1/2 cup chicken broth and I think that I could have used milk & it would have still been great . There is only 2 of us and I had enough left over for 3 meals…..so this is a great meal for the freezer !
I also served this over rice the second time and hubby still loved it.
Thank You so much for sharing

    1. How are you even qualified to say what this recipe tastes like after all of the changes you made? I absolutely cannot stand it when people make a ton of changes to a recipe and then try to review it. What you made sounds nasty and in no way resembles the original recipe.

      1. WOAH Sammie! Pull those fangs in why don’t you!? Who do you think you are criticizing people in that manner? That’s just plain RUDE! Your mama should have taught you better manners. If you don’t have anything nice to say, keep your mouth shut.

      2. I would like to thank Adeline for letting us know how it turned out when she made changes. I also think that if people did not try different things when making a recipe then we would not have such a variety of recipes to enjoy. Actually that applies to everything in life. We would still be living in caves and eating who knows what. Thank goodness for people who are inspired to try different things.

I too was thinking of serving it over rice, using cream of mushroom soup, and to also add some veggies to it in the last few hours of cooking. Also it also sounds like it would be great to serve over mashed potatoes.

Variety is the spice of life!!!

        God bless.
