I’ve been posting a lot of fun recipe links to Facebook and Pinterest so I thought I’d put them all in one post in case ya missed any. I’ll also be emailing this out to my subscribers, as I do with all of my new posts, so make sure you subscribe on the right hand side of the page if you don’t already. It is the absolute only, sure fire way to get all of my new recipes.
This one has been kicking up a dust storm on Pinterest lately! Featured on this post are also links to the recipes for everything on that plate. I’d sure like to sit down to that after a long day!
It’s never too early to start thinking about holiday get togethers! This shows up in my Pinterest feed every time I log in so y’all must agree. This delicious pumpkin pie dip is a blend of pumpkin, cream cheese, confectioner’s sugar and just the right spices. Great for dipping gingerbread cookies, graham crackers, or apple wedges!
This hearty ground beef stew has been a seasonal favorite ever since I first posted it back in 2009, but here lately it has taken on a whole new life on social media. See how easy this recipe is and find out what secret ingredient gives it that extra oomph that leaves folks wanting just one more bowl!
2 Ingredient Hot Water Cornbread
When you need something delicious to go with your favorite soup or stew, keep it simple with this 2 Ingredient Hot Water cornbread.
Banana Bread is always a welcome treat!
I have two loaves of this in my oven as I type this. Banana bread has been a favorite of my family for generations and this simple recipe is the one my mother has always used to make moist and delicious loaves.
I posted this fairly recently but it’s popularity has taken off, especially once folks tried these delicious mildly spicy, sweet meatballs. Perfect for a day with family, watching the game, or just because.
(A Bags to Dishes Meal)
With winter coming on and the chances of folks being stuck at home due to weather (not to mention all of the other situations in our world right now), the assurance of having all of the ingredients handy to make some meals has really inspired folks. My Bags to Dishes post (click here) explains how these meals work, how to convert your recipes to shelf stable ingredients, and offers several recipes that you can just print off, assemble, and know that you have what you need to feed your family should you be unable to go to the grocery store.
And a great big thank you from me and Mama!
This week I announced that I have finally convinced Mama to become a regular contributor here on SouthernPlate.com and her first recipe post in this new venture went up a few days back. She has been so overwhelmed with the kindness y’all have shown and has enjoyed replying to the comments on that post. Look for lots more from Mama (and me) in the future! Right now she is planning on one post a week, good Lord willing and the Creek don’t rise. 🙂

Hi Christy,
I had been getting emails from you on a regular basis until about a month or so ago and then they stopped. I really enjoy seeing and trying your recipes and especially enjoy all the stories that go with the recipes. Could you check to see if there is some reason that I stopped getting them.
Thank you so much.
Hey Kathy! I’m happy to look into that for you. I pulled up your email and it looks like the last email you opened was on October 23rd. The good news is that all other emails have been sent and received by your email service, none were sent back or marked undeliverable. This means that they are probably lurking in your spam or junk folder. You can go in there and do a search for southernplate and should be able to click on them and check off “not spam” and all will be well again. Holler if this doesn’t do it and I’ll put on my boots and go in and give the computer a good kick 😉
