This exciting post contains a guest recipe from Laura at Real Mom Kitchen! She has prepared a mouthwatering Overnight Pull Aparts recipe that you’re going to want to make immediately!
From Laura: This recipe is what I always serve on Christmas morning. On Christmas day, we have lunch at my parents house and dinner at my mother-in-laws house, so we just need a little something to get us going in the morning. I have adapted this recipe from several different other recipes that I have. It’s perfect because I put it together the night before. Then, when I get up in the morning it’s already to put in the oven while we open presents. I serve it with a glass of milk, juice, or hot chocolate. This would also be a wonderful addition to any brunch. Also included are instructions on how to make a cinnamon variation. Christmas breakfast has never been so easy!
What You’ll Need to Make Overnight Pull Aparts
Ingredients
Overnight Pull Apart Bread
- frozen white roll dough
- vanilla instant pudding
- sugar
- dried cranberries
- orange zest
- butter or margarine
Frosting
- powdered sugar
- melted butter
- fresh orange juice
How to Make Overnight Pull Aparts
Prepare a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Sprinkle the dried cranberries on the bottom of the prepared pan.
Arrange the frozen roll dough evenly around the pan and on top of the cranberries.
Mix the sugar and dry pudding together in a small bowl.
Sprinkle the pudding/sugar mixture evenly over the frozen roll dough.
Zest an orange and then combine orange zest with the melted butter in another small bowl.
Spoon the orange zested butter over the rolls.
Distribute the mixture over all of the rolls as evenly as possible so that the zest will get on to every roll.
Spray plastic wrap with non-stick cooking spray and cover the prepared dough and then place it in a cold over overnight (8 – 10 hours).
In the morning, remove the rolls from the oven and preheat the oven to 350. When the oven is all ready, remove the plastic wrap and bake!
Bake Overnight Pull Aparts for 25 minutes. Laura’s tip: Check during the last 5 minutes, if the top is getting too brown, just lay a piece of foil on top.
As soon as you remove the pan from the oven, invert it onto a serving platter or cutting board.
Quickly remove the inverted pan to reveal your stunning Overnight Pull Aparts! Allow the bread to cool slightly.
While cooling, prepare the frosting by mixing the powdered sugar, melted butter and orange juice.
When the bread is slightly cooled, drizzle with frosting.
Laura Says: After icing, you’re done! Time to enjoy! I just use a serrated knife and cut it into slices.
Below is Laura’s take on making a cinnamon version:
- ¾ chopped nuts in place of the cranberries
- 4 oz package of butterscotch pudding in place of vanilla pudding and sugar
- ½ cup packed brown sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in place of the orange rind
- In this case, you don’t even need the frosting, but if you really want it use milk in place of the orange juice.
Ingredients
For the Overnight Pull Aparts
- 12 to 16 frozen white roll dough still frozen, I use 16
- 1 3.4 oz. package vanilla instant pudding
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup dried cranberries
- 1 orange zest grated
- ½ cup butter or margarine melted
For the Frosting
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
Instructions
- Sprinkle cranberries in the bottom of a greased bundt pan. Arrange rolls evenly in pan.
- Mix sugar and dry pudding together and sprinkle over rolls.
- Combine orange rind with melted butter and spoon over rolls. Cover pan with sprayed plastic wrap. Place pan in cold oven overnight (8 to 10 hours).
- Remove rolls from oven. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Remove plastic wrap from pan and bake for 25 min. Immediately invert pan onto a serving platter. Cool slightly.
- Mix powdered sugar, melted butter and orange juice for the frosting, then drizzle over pull aparts.

Thanks Laura for this scrumptious recipe! Be sure to visit Real Mom Kitchen!
Just ran into this again. How terrific would this be with dried cherries (I’m in Michigan, so cherries are easy to get)? I’m thinking a little Grand Marnier in the drizzle wouldn’t hurt either.
