Would Almonds be a reasonable alternative to cashews in the Crockpot Cashew Chicken Recipe? I have an allergy to cashews, the recipe looks easy & stellar, but I am not a fan of peanuts in savoury foods and the water chestnuts don’t appeal to me in this recipe. Thanks so much!
Yes, if you don’t have an allergy to almonds they would work as a substitute.
I could certainly use this! My 20 year old crockpot lid has broken!!
I have worn out my old crockpot, from all the cooking I do for children at church. It’s time for an upgrade. we loved the chicken fajitas, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Three of my great grandsons, love to cook, 10, 8, and 5. They also love fajitas, so this recipe was just the thing for all three to be involved it with the whisking of the spices. Layering of the ingredients, and putting the recipe together. They decided we had to cook on high, 2-3 hrs, because waiting 4-6 hrs. was to long for them to eat their meal that they helped put together. As for the putting together after it was done, that’s a whole new story. They went crazy with the toppings!
Sounds like you are making some wonderful memories 🙂
I have always enjoyed crock pot cooking – especially when I worked!!! Would love to have a new one – mine is just a plain old jane!! Also love your recipes – they are all good so far.
Hi! We are a farming family in Southwestern Ontario, Canada and mealtime is a rush in our busy seasons. People are running in and out of the kitchen at mealtimes looking for a ‘quick grab’ and then running back out the door! It would be great to win that beautiful slow cooker! The Chicken Fajita recipe is a dish that I would make early in the morning and it would be ready for the ‘quick grab’ lunch scene! It would be great to be making it in a brand new slow cooker. – mine is 39 years old – time for an upgrade :). Thank you 🙂
My mom made a flamingo cake for Easter. It was delicious!
