Lifesavers: Make Plans For Election Night (trust me)

Hey friends,

The last few months have been pretty rough in our country in a way that leaves us tired, disheartened, and even disturbed. Division has risen up among us unlike any that I have ever experienced in my lifetime and there is no group of people that have been left unscathed by it.
I know a lot of you probably feel the same way I do and are looking forward to voting Tuesday and the whole thing being over with as we continue to hope and pray for the future of our country and it’s people.
The two leading parties have slogans of “Stronger Together” and “Make America Great Again”.

Well, today I’m writing to remind you of something that you can do, on your own, on election night that will accomplish both of those objectives:

1. Make supper for your family.
2. Sit down together
3. Join hands and pray for one another, our country, our world, and everyone who lives in it.
4. Eat together.
5. Talk. Laugh. Turn off the television and cherish time spent with the ones you love most.

Do these things and you can find your peace again and that peace, your family, and your appreciation of your own blessings will contribute to our country and our world in immeasurable ways.
We are blessed, we just have to take time to appreciate those blessings.

Take a deep breath. God’s still got this.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

~Phil 4:6

Note: No political talk in the comments. I know this gets hard at times so I recommend sitting on your hands to keep them from typing until the urge passes. That’s what I do. This was posted alongside my Shortcut Chicken Stew recipe, click here for that.

  1. That’s great advice Christy! We just have to remember that no matter who becomes President, Jesus Christ is still King!

  2. Thank you. This will really help on election day instead of focusing on the polls we can focus on our families! Which we should do every day, but especially on this day.

    Positive thoughts!!!

  3. Great message regarding the election——we just have to remember that no matter what “God will see us through”

  4. Great post! That’s exactly how those two slogans can be achieved on a personal level. God Bless America!
