We had a family reunion and had every kind of noodle salad you could think of. Brownies cookies and really strong coffee for desert. I made your bruschetta recipe with day old French bread so as people could scoop out and place it on the bread them selves. I let it marinate for 2 days. I did not use the cheese (takes away from the great flavors) used olive oil because it adds to the taste and better for good cholesterol reasons… did not toast or bake it, if I did add cheese it would have been fresh parmesan.
Went to our daughters home for a weiner roast. Always good when you can
spend time with family and friends!
My 2 year old had his Elmo birthday party yesterday!!
Our weekend plans include two meals with two different groups of special people. On Saturday, we’re having dinner with some cousins from out-of-state that we don’t see too often. The menu includes beef brisket (my brother’s cooking it), green beans, “Lipton potatoes”, corn, butterpeas, canteloupe and cranberry & apple salad (my mama is cooking all of the rest). On Sunday, we’ve been invited to the home of some of our church folks that we see all the time. The menu includes meatloaf, chicken casserole, corn, green beans, coca-cola salad, turnip greens, mac & cheese, canteloupe and fried okra. The best part (besides the good company) is all I have to do is help clean-up!
We plan on working on remodeling our house.
Our plans for the weekend – as soon as I get home from work – change into comfy clothes and hop in the car with hubby and doggy and head to our RV which is parked in a private area with about 30 to 40 of our good friends – just eating all kinds of good food that we each share in preparing – play some card games, dice games, dance a little and again – share good food. I am so excited to be signed up onto your website and get the daily emails and recipes. I have already been sharing them with my friends at camp and they are so excited to see what I come up with next for snacks. Thanks for sharing – love your website.
what a weekend! My 5 year old daughter and I finished up a weeklong vacation visiting friends in Yankee country, Cincinnati! but hey, they have Skyline chili and Graeter’s ice cream, so the trip was not a bust!!
We drove 12 hours in the car (fog, rain, construction–ugh!) with lots of singing and talking and solving the problems of the world–but we were kind of sick of each other after 12 hours!!!
She did enjoy her first trip to K&W cafeteria and thought it was a blast to pick out her food and get it immediately!
Daddy was certainly glad to get his girls home safely!
