  1. That app looks really cool!! Well, the fave meal that I cooked for my brothers when I was raising them was country fried steak(aka cubed steak), mashed potatoes(or rice) and homemade gravy-I’d also smother some of the meat into the gravy! YUM! lol

and I’d serve garden peas and homemade biscuits with it also! and sweet tea!! Luckily my mom had taught me how to cook since I was 9, so after she passed away & I raised my brothers, they didn’t have to eat t.v. dinners haha

I miss them very much and I’d love to gift the ipad to them if I win!! They moved to Hollywood, CA to pursue their music career!

    thanks for the chance Christy!!

  2. (don’t think my first one went through)
My son has made tamales the past 4 years and this year I was the helper. We have 6 quart bags of tamales in the freezer. The vegetarian ones with cooked homemade salsa and shredded Jack Cheese smelled wonderful. The first batch were pork. Can hardly wait for family to come over Christmas Day and eat them!

  3. I am a southerner who moved north, and I have been making your squash casserole for my NYC friends, who are all now comtemplating a move south, haha. Seriously, though – with my almost non-existent kitchen, it is do-able and makes me feel like I am eating something yummy, fresh, and good for me!

  4. I MAKE PIZZELIES,( ITALIAN WAFFLE COOKIES ) I USE THE MACHINE AND THE KIDS WATCH THE TIMING. CAUSE THEY COOK VERY QUICK

    MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

  5. My favorite thing to make with/for my family for Christmas is my crockpot ham. I get the shank portion of the ham, place in the crockpot. May have to cut up, which is fine because it falls apart when it cook anyway:) Make a paste out of about 1 cup of brown sugar and Dr. Pepper. Score ham and rub all over it. Pour about another 1/4 cup of Dr. Pepper in crockpot ( depending on how big your crock pot is. Mine is oval and pretty big) with the ham. Then add a large can of crushed pineapple and cook on low about 12 hours. I put mine on the night before, then it is ready about lunch time:). There will be a lot of liquid, use a slotted spoon and remove all the ham to a plate, it will be shredded (YUM), and put juice in a bowl for those who want to dip their ham in it…This is a must every holiday for our family:)
