This holiday season, Kraft Foods teamed up with celeb Chef Marcus Samuelsson to bring in an exclusive recipe collection new content pack for on their iPad app Big Fork Little Fork. In celebration of this new addition, Kraft Foods is giving away a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad to one lucky Southern Plate Family member along with the downloadable app to spice things up for moms and their kids during this holiday season.

But first, a little bit more on how the app can help you -and your the kids- out in the kitchen. The new content pack contains globally-inspired recipes, how-to videos, and a ton of tips and tricks from Marcus himself to show just how easy it is to get everyone involved in creating meals together. The new content is really Marcus designed the content pack to bring both parents and children into the kitchen to make cooking a family affair (and a fun one at that!)

And now for the fun part: bringing this virtual cookbook into the kitchens of your readers! Below are some screenshots of the app and a recipe from the new content pack.

The interface is colorful, interactive, informative, and FUN!

  1. Sugar cookies! My boys helped me make them when they were younger and now my husband helps me frost them and then we mail them out to our boys & their families. I would love to win the I-Pad!!

  2. Happy Birthday and name and age of the birthday person PLUS EACH person in the family EVERY TIME there is a birthday!! Lots of Mama Reed Tea Cakes!! Four to eight batches EVERY birthday because Happy Birthday and the year and name and age of the birthday person go to each big party!! EVERYONE at the party loves them and they each feel so special and truly included in the birthday celebration!! Many trays of the infamous Mama Reed’s!!   3. My favorite thing to make during the Christmas season is candy like chocolate covered peanuts, haystacks, turtles, fudge, or chocolate covered pretzels. My mother and I used to always make it every year for santa on Christmas Eve and now I still have to make some every year. I even make it for all my co-workers at the office. It makes the best little gifts.

  4. My family loves me to make roast hoagies. A slow cooked roast served with hoagie rolls for a quick – no mess supper.

  5. My daughter likes making spaghetti and my son will eat anything on his plate that won’t move. I’m fond of baking and I’m off to make pumpkin bread and other treats.

  6. We love to make sausage cheese biscuits for special mornings like Christmas! We measure out all the ingredients, brown the sausage, and have it ready to throw in the bowl, mix together, and scoop on the baking sheets.

  7. I love to bake Christmas cookies and put them in pretty tins to surpise my co-workers and friends. I like to take a large one by the rest home for the workers so that they can have when they are working on the holidays.
