  1. My nine-year-old granddaughter asked if we could make cut-out cookies for Christmas this year. So we used your “Mama Reed’s Southern Tea Cakes” recipe a couple of weeks ago. I chilled the dough and we made cut-out cookies which she then decorated by painting with thinned powdered sugar icing. I have used the paint-brush decorating with all my grandchildren. My two-year-old twin granddaughters decorated Halloween cookies. One of them enjoyed one cookie by painting it, then licking off the icing, and painting it again. Such fun for this grandma!

  2. Hi Christy,

Every night we eat a meal at home the kids are my “assistants”. They are 5, 7, 9 and 18 (she is away at college now). They get to help plan the meal as well as prepare it. They absolutely love it! There favorite meal to make and then get to eat is Potato Soup.

The ipad in the kitchen would be a dream come true! When my printer is not working, which is frequent, I run up and down the stairs to the basement to see my recipes! It’s crazy but a bit of a work out prior to eating and that never hurts me…..

  3. My son loves to make quesadillas. He’s still stuck on the cheese-only variety, but we put out a variety of other fillings and each family member makes their own. Would love to see the Big Fork/Little Fork app — does he have any Vietnamese recipes in this world cuisine?

  4. Last night for dinner I cooked Scrambled Cabbage. It is a concoction of cabbage, tomatoes, the holy trinity (onions, green pepper, and celery), and smoked sausage. My crew says it is one of their favorite meals. Although the meal is not one of my favorites, I cook it with love because it is something they truly enjoy.

  5. The only thing my mother let me make growing up was desserts. We had a gas range, my mother worked, so unless she was there I wasn’t allowed to use the stove.

My earliest memorable recipe was given to my mother by one of her friends, called Pinwheel cookies. It was a crisp shorbread, with a cinnamon meringe rolled up inside, and then sliced. It was my favorite, later my children, now my grandchildren’s. This is requested each Christmas by one and all.

I would love to have an iPad, especially with recipes included. I don’t have a computer in my kitchen, so I have to continually write down or print off recipe’s that I want to try.

Thanks again for sharing these special offers.

Hope you have a lovely Chirstmas.
