  1. Sugar Cookies – the recipe I used to make when I was in high school. I lost the recipe when we moved over 40 years ago, and after searching through literally thousands of recipes on the internet I found it five years ago. It is now my own family’s favorite cookie recipe and it takes me back to my own growing up. That first bite takes me back to my mother’s kitchen, the old farmhouse, winter days, all the love.

  2. Oh baking Christmas cookies with my Italian in-laws is right up there! Especially Pizelles and Anise Knots and Italian butter cookies! We’ll be getting together early next week for our Bake-Fest!! I can’t wait. (I’ll eat cookies for breakfast. For real!)

  3. One of our favorite recipes to make together for Christmas morning is Sleepin” in Omelette casserole. It’s fun to make and delicious!

  4. i love baking Snickerdoodles. they are the one cookie that once the holidays hit (or if we’re just having a bad time), we all want to make. Lasagna is our other favorite comfort food–we’re having that instead of traditional Christmas foods this year!

  5. The recipe for Marinated Pretzels was a gift from a friend years ago and has now become a gift for my family and friends. It’s an unexpected combination of pretzels and herbs, and the process of marinating takes three days of really easy tossing and turning and LOTS of anticipation – just the right thing for children to make and for everyone to enjoy. The little ones AND the big ones love this deceptively simple treat.

  6. one of my favorite recipes to make for my family is called Mexican Chicken casserole–it’s also a staple for family get togethers. Delicious!
