  1. My husband and son’s favorite recipe is an oriental hamburger/rice dish from a Betty Crocker cookbook I received at my wedding shower thirty-two years ago. I have used this little cookbook until the front and back covers have fallen off and the pages are all splattered. Their second favorite recipe is your pan-fried pork chop recipe using the onion hushpuppy mix. They do not sell this mix in Texas, so my mom sent me a care package from North Carolina with the mix and with my beloved White Lily flour.

  2. We cook as a family all the time, my husband and I consider it date night:) My son loves to help me make my 5 cheese macaroni and then we make Fried Mac n Cheese with any leftovers. We have to make a TON to have leftovers 🙂 My son is only 14 and loves to cook for the family. Teaching your children how to cook meals with quality ingredients helps them to eat healthier and make better food choices.

  3. I love to make boiled cookies. It reminds me of being little…and how mother’s cookies never hardened, which seems to now taste better that way.

  4. I love to make red beans and rice for my family but I think their fav recipe for me to make them is chocolate chip cookies. They love them!

  5. Having just moved to South Florida, I am always looking to make yummy family recipes that remind me of home. One of my favorites is my Aunt Eileen’s slow cooked Sloppy Joes on squishy fresh rolls that sop up all the sauce. They are all at once sweet, salty, spicy and most of all comforting.

  6. I love making a green olive/nut spread. If you love green olives, this stuff is to die for. It’s simply a block of softened cream cheese, 1/4 to 1/2 cup mayo, a cup of chopped green olives, a couple of tablespons of olive juice, and a half cup of chopped pecans. Mix it all together, chill, and serve on Ritz crackers. It’s SO addictive! =) Hope everyone has a great holiday season!
