  1. For my family it always has to be “chew” bread, (a kind of brown sugar brownie), it is a must for all holidays, family functions and beach trips–I have given all my children the recipe, but they still think mine tastes better. I have also made this with my grandchildren when they come to visit

  2. I have a recipe called “Veal Supreme” that is my 85-year old dad’s very most favorite meal and I have NEVER found anything that comes close to it (and I have researched and collected recipes for years). It is a veal stew-type recipe that is served over toasted chow mein noodles. Dad was born in 1925 and grew up in the depression and during that time, veal stew meat was very hard to come by. His mom, my grandma, would apparently make this recipe at times when the butcher would feel sorry for a single mother raising 3 kids and give Grandma the veal stew meat before it spoiled. I remember her also making it every year, when we would make the trek from VA back to IL to spend a vacation week with her. My 80-year old mom would make it occasionally through the years, but I have to agree with dad, as good as it was…it never tasted as good as Grandma’s. I have made it upon occasion over the years whenever I can find veal stew meat at the grocery and especially if I can have some veal stew meat in the freezer when dad and mom come for a visit. I have the most fun making it because my I feel Grandma guides me through the process every step of the way and there’s nothing like seeing dad’s eyes as he recounts the memories. Thanks Grandma!!! 😀

  3. My 9 year old and I enjoy making cheesecake. We have made pumpkin cheesecake, cookie dough cheesecake, raspberry swirl…

  4. My favorite thing to make for our family is “cornflake chicken!” It is the first meal I made for my husband after we were married, and he fell in love with it. Even our picky two-year-old daughter loves it. It is also the first meal I made for him (per request) when he came home from deployment!!

  5. We are empty nesters and I love to make a special meal for our kids when they come visit. The most requested is chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, fried okra and biscuits.

  6. My family loves my meatloaf recipe. Our son now lives in South Carolina. He makes this for his friends who love it and ask for the recipe.
