This holiday season, Kraft Foods teamed up with celeb Chef Marcus Samuelsson to bring in an exclusive recipe collection new content pack for on their iPad app Big Fork Little Fork. In celebration of this new addition, Kraft Foods is giving away a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad to one lucky Southern Plate Family member along with the downloadable app to spice things up for moms and their kids during this holiday season.

But first, a little bit more on how the app can help you -and your the kids- out in the kitchen. The new content pack contains globally-inspired recipes, how-to videos, and a ton of tips and tricks from Marcus himself to show just how easy it is to get everyone involved in creating meals together. The new content is really Marcus designed the content pack to bring both parents and children into the kitchen to make cooking a family affair (and a fun one at that!)

And now for the fun part: bringing this virtual cookbook into the kitchens of your readers! Below are some screenshots of the app and a recipe from the new content pack.

The interface is colorful, interactive, informative, and FUN!

  1. Every Christmas my Mom would make her no bake Fruit Cake, one for each of her 3 children. She passed away almost 2 years ago and I have continued her tradition of makeing this No Bake Fruit Cake – my 2 older brothers are so excited when they get this heavy present. It brings good memories of Mom and sooths their appitite for this wonderful fruit cake.

  2. My family loves for me make to make poppy seed chicken. My 14 year old will practically beg for it. He gets a plate and all he wants on it is his poopy seed chicken and his rice! I love to watch him eat it all up!

  3. My favorite recipe to make is my Mom’s Jambalaya recipe! It’s super easy and delicious. You just throw all the ingredients into a 3 qt dish and cook for an hour and a half and voila a dish of Cajun goodness for all. It’s so easy my 8 year old son has even started helping me make it! Some day I hope it will be his favorite recipe too, along with all the memories that come with making it!

  4. Believe it or not my family asks for meat loaf. Our family always gets to choose their birthday dinner. Three of the five kids ask for meat loaf every time. My husband does too.

  5. Christmas cookies are what I love to gather the kids and grands up to make. Makes a huge mess but it also makes sweet memories!!
