This holiday season, Kraft Foods teamed up with celeb Chef Marcus Samuelsson to bring in an exclusive recipe collection new content pack for on their iPad app Big Fork Little Fork. In celebration of this new addition, Kraft Foods is giving away a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad to one lucky Southern Plate Family member along with the downloadable app to spice things up for moms and their kids during this holiday season.

But first, a little bit more on how the app can help you -and your the kids- out in the kitchen. The new content pack contains globally-inspired recipes, how-to videos, and a ton of tips and tricks from Marcus himself to show just how easy it is to get everyone involved in creating meals together. The new content is really Marcus designed the content pack to bring both parents and children into the kitchen to make cooking a family affair (and a fun one at that!)

And now for the fun part: bringing this virtual cookbook into the kitchens of your readers! Below are some screenshots of the app and a recipe from the new content pack.

  1. Our favorite meal to cook is tri tips on our big green egg. Along with homemade onion rings and french silk pie.

  2. My boys love to help out in the kitchen and my oldest son is venturing out to make some recipes on his own. His favorites to make are beef stew and homemade chocolate cake.

  3. Right now I am loving making all the Christmas candies that my mom used to make when I was a little girl and now I get to make for my family. (Martha Washington Balls, Haystacks, Party Mix and Holiday Cookies, etc.). Precious memories.

My family loves the following cheese ball recipe during the holidays, It is so easy to make and so very delicious. 2 jars KRAFT Old English, 1 jar KRAFT Roka Blue, 1 8 oz KRAFT Philadelphia Cream Cheese, mix for approx. 30 seconds at medium speed (do not over mix) form into ball and roll in chopped pecans 🙂

  6. Thank you so much for your website and emails. I love seeing what good Southern food you showcase. I love my grits with cheese and bacon! Yummy! I have several things I love to make with my 3 children, it is hard to pick just one. Let’s see, there is homemade pretzels, homemade marshmallows, chocolate chip cookies, homemade muffins, waffles and pancakes…the list goes on and on… My kids love helping me cook and I (usually 😉 love them helping me out. This app on the Ipad seems like it would be so much fun and helpful.

    I am fortunate enough to homeschool my kids and we have a little extra time to spend in the kitchen. An Ipad would come in so handy in so many ways with homeschooling.
