  1. As long as I can remember, my mom has made beef vegetable stew and homemade bread for supper on Christmas Eve. We always look forward to coming home after church to a wonderful meal!

  2. I love to make your Mama Reed’s Vanilla Wafer Cake. It always gets rave reviews at family gatherings and everywhere else I have taken it.

  3. One of our favorite dinners around here is a nice juicy ribeye steak on a charcoal grill with our recipe of cheesy bacon potatoes, corn on the cob and a salad. It’s nice to have friends or family over to enjoy good food and good conversation!

  4. My kids are still a little small to help much in the kitchen so my favorite dishes are ones that come together fast or is just dumping or pouring in a dish so my girls can help me. Crock-pot Santa Fe Chicken fulfills both of those options for me, and BONUS everyone in the family eats it.

  5. My husband’s grandmother, Emma, was married at 16. Being a Texas girl, she decided to start a new tradition for her Southern East Texas family, a tradition from South Texas. For all of the rest of her long life, she made hot tamales every Christmas eve for the entire extended family. Her daughter, now in her eighties, has changed the date from Christmas Eve to an evening between Christmas and New Years; but the menu is still the same–hot tamales, chili, enchiladas, salad, and homemade candy for desert.

  6. It is just my husband and I and he doesn’t eat a lot of the stuff I would love to cook. He was raised in IL and I was raised in MS. Totally different food cultures. But with that said, he likes pasta so I seem to make a lot of pasta dishes and also, meat and potatoes.
