This holiday season, Kraft Foods teamed up with celeb Chef Marcus Samuelsson to bring in an exclusive recipe collection new content pack for on their iPad app Big Fork Little Fork. In celebration of this new addition, Kraft Foods is giving away a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad to one lucky Southern Plate Family member along with the downloadable app to spice things up for moms and their kids during this holiday season.

But first, a little bit more on how the app can help you -and your the kids- out in the kitchen. The new content pack contains globally-inspired recipes, how-to videos, and a ton of tips and tricks from Marcus himself to show just how easy it is to get everyone involved in creating meals together. The new content is really Marcus designed the content pack to bring both parents and children into the kitchen to make cooking a family affair (and a fun one at that!)

And now for the fun part: bringing this virtual cookbook into the kitchens of your readers! Below are some screenshots of the app and a recipe from the new content pack.

The interface is colorful, interactive, informative, and FUN!

  1. When I was a little girl my mom would make us chocolate gravy and biscuits for breakfast. You are the only other person I know that makes it.

  2. I love to make beans and cornbread,(using my great-grandmother’s iron skillet, it just tastes better). Also, vegetable soup simmering in the slow cooker with that wonderful cornbread. Thanks for sharing your recipes with us Christy!

  4. I love and pretty much everyone who taste this loves it too
    My husbands specialty is lamb stew over jasmine rice my family has named it red stuff its lamb chunks with onion,tomatoe,red and green bell pepper,baby carrots all saute then simmered until lamb is fall off the bone tender then we serve it up top steam jasmine rice its the best we all have a hand in it cutting vegetables,etc good to get kids to eeat there veggies theres pretty much a balance of food groups in this great dish you can also sub the lamb meat for chicken,beef,etc or just the veggies!
