  1. My husband is a 70 year old man that grew up in rural Mississippi. Believe it or not, (ha ha) but men back then didn’t cook. The only time they went into the kitchen was to eat.

Last year around this time, I was making some Holly Jollies for the grandkids and neighbors. He watched a few minutes, then said “why don’t you put some marshmallows in some?” I almost fainted, but didn’t and got the marshmallows out. We spent the rest of the afternoon together thinking up different ingredients for the candies. I have to say, it was one of the most enjoyable afternoons we’ve had in a long time. We’re doing it again one day next week! Thanks, Christy!!

  2. My daughters & I make chocolate covered peanut clusters for the men in our family every Christmas. We have a great time delivering our goodies to the ones we love.

  3. My kids have helped me can preserves/fruit this fall (chop fruit in food processor by pressing the button, pour sugar in a pot not yet on the oven, hold the lids and bands while I clean the rims of the jars, etc.) and they have just loved it! I thought it would be boring to them, but they were fascinated and wanted to help. It has been a joy this season!

  4. My favorite recipe to make with & for my kids is spicy vegetable beef soup. It’s delicious & a really easy way to sneak some great vegetables into my kids!
