  1. I started a new tradition with my son last year. We made homeade sugar cookies and decorated them. I then let him make a list of who he wanted to give them to and we delivered cookies that afternoon! They were good and it taught him about giving!

  2. Homemade tacos are a favorite at my house. Folks, these are not your regular tacos. I fry the corn tortillas until they are crispy. Put aside on paper towels. Next make the cheese sauce…This is to die for. …….. Start out by melting 1/2 box of Velvetta. Add 1/2 – 1 stick butter and Rotelle. ( or canned tomatoes.) Add the tomatoes as needed. T he acid in the tomatoes help the butter and cheese to blend and reach a nice consistency for spreading.. Then add 2-3 T. chili powder to suite your taste. I add about 1 T cumin maybe more…to suit my taste. …..In another skillet fry up the loose ground beef seasoning only with salt and pepper. Now put your taco together buffet style. The tortilla goes on the plate first, top it with a generous scoop of melted cheese. Next layer the loose ground beef then top with it with chopped lettuce, onion, and tomato. Last squirt on a bit of ketchup. I know it sounds unreasonable to use ketchup, but somehow it is magical. (I really didn’t want to try it the first time…either! It took some persuading to get me to be that adventurous.) So delicious! Two of these will fill you up!

  3. We make Meringue Mushrooms. Years ago, I would make them to decorate Christmas Yule Log Cakes. Everybody loved them so much that they became our family’s special Christmas treat.

  4. I love making my famous fresh pumpkin soup flavored with apple, onion, and thyme and serving it in a hollowed out pumpkin! My kids get so excited for it!

  5. I bake sugar cookies and then we have a decorating party. The little girls are 30 and 31 and they love to decorate and eat them!
