  1. Each year, we make christmas hard candy. it’s fun to find all of the different flavored oils and choose the combinations of oils and food coloring. Such a fun memory and activity that we still do as a family.

  2. I love to make homemade Veggie Soup! We can it in the summer with veggies from the garden, nothing is better on cold rainy winter days (like today!) than soup with some cast iron skillet cornbread.

  3. My two sons and I make my GrannyMa Waller’s Molasses Cookies every Christmas. One son likes to bake more than the other; the other likes to eat what we’ve baked but they both love these cookies. We have made it our Christmas Tradition to make them. Before our sons were born, when I’d been married for 4 years, my GrannyMa Waller mailed me her handwritten recipe, with her secrets beside some ingredients. REAL Vanilla, sorry Chrisiy! And REAL Butter. Of course, she used butter she made but I lived in the city at that time! lol When my cousins ask why MY cookies always taste “JUST like GrannyMa’s!” I just smile and thank them. Grins . . . I’ve never told them why: GrannyMa didn’t like Nutmeg and would double the Cinnamon! :o) We love to try new recipes and we will print out what looks good. Having an iPad in the kitchen would help out a lot! Thanks for the offer!! Good luck everyone!

  4. Soak Biscuits ! MmmmmMmmmmmmm Use leftover homemade biscuits. Fix a cup of coffee just the way you like it and crumble up biscuits in it. I like to add extra sugar to mine ! OMG it is so good. My Momma use to make it for us all the time.

  5. I love to make my grandmother’s Scottish shortbread at Christmas. My grandmother insists on superfine sugar and you have to stir it by hand. That’s why I only make it at Christmas, the joy of the season cancels out the grumbling from a cramping arm! The buttery taste is worth it and will always remind me of my Grandma.

  6. Our tradition is to take a day and cook all the sweet stuff for Christmas like no bake cookies, peanut butter balls, all different kinds of cookies. But we also add in sausage balls too. 🙂
