  1. My husband and I love to make (and EAT!) egg rolls. We don’t like the store-bought kind, but love the home-made ones.

    Merry Christmas!!!

  2. Hi Christy I love your website and am hoping I get your cookbook for Christmas. I love to cook for my children and I don’t really have one favorite thing as long as my kids are there. They are my biggest fans and no matter if I goof up or whatever they never complain. Your recipes have really brought smiles to their faces. My daughter was so excited when I made chicken and dunplings, she bragged to everyone how her mama had made the best ckn and dumplings. So I would like to express many Thanks to you!!

  3. My favorite thing is having my 9 yr old grandaughter and 11 yr old grandson in the kitchen with me. They both love to help Nana cook. We do everything from biscuits to chocolate pie.

  4. Christy,
One of my very favorites this time of year is my Molasses Cookie Recipe that all the grandkids (including the 19 month old!) love. They are soft in the middle and just a little crunchy on the outside, and oh so buttery and good! YUMMY!

  5. We love just about anything sweet around my house, my husbands new favorites is the Easy Apple Cake from the SP cookbook (pg 107) it before Tgiving and hIs only request for Tgiving dinner was that apple cake! The kids are huge fans of the sugar cookies with icing (pg 156)…..Momma is too 😉

  6. During Christmas, It always takes me back to my days at home growing up with my parents and brothers. Mother made almost every year a recipe that is my Daddy’s absolute favorite, Amalgamation Cake. This recipe was given to my parents by an older lady that made this every Christmas also. The cake is just a plain yellow or white. But… the icing is unbelievable. It has 1 lb butter, 1 dozen eggs, 1 whole fresh grated coconut,1 c sugar, 1 box ground raisins, 1 lb ground pecans, 1 lb almonds, 1 lb hickory nuts, and 1 lb walnuts. Melt butter, slowly add in eggs and cook til a custard forms. Add the other ingredients, mix well. Cut 3 cake layers inhalf making 6 thin layers.Spread icing between layers, top and sides. Keep refrigerated. This cake tastes like Christmas to us and brings back so many memories. Merry Christmas!!
