Oh! I love to bake pretty much anything with my precious grand-children.
Christmas cookies are my favorite. I recently purchased the sweetest book, “The Gift of the Christmas Cookie” Sharing the True Meaning of Jesus’ Birth I plan to read this to them the day we bake our cookies. I think you’ll like this story Christy.
I love making Oreo Cookie Dessert with my siblings. They love helping bake anything!
I like to make my lasagna to take to family gatherings. This year I made spaghetti sauce from my home grown tomatoes and use it in my lasagna, it tastes wonderful! People ask what sauce I use and I’m proud to say homemade!! I just might have to plant a couple more tomato plants next year to make sure I have plenty of sauce for next winter.
one recipe that i have been making for a few years – is the crockpot candy recipe. it has almond bark, milk chocolate chips, german chocolate bark, salted peanuts, and unsalted peanuts. it is so yummy – and makes a ton! i could make myself sick on it. i have always wanted an i-pad – i am tech-challenged. if i win it – maybe your husband can show me how to use it. hahaha. nevermind, i forgot i have a 16-year old who knows EVERYTHING. she can show me. hahah.
My favorite go-to dish is goo-losh! When you get tired of this and there is any left, just add a little tomato juice and you have soup!
My family loves homemade pizza. I like to make it in several different ways so it doesn’t get boring. 🙂
I grew up poor in the south, like you,Christy. We ate lots of dried peas and beans. I didn’t know that was po’ folks food. I just knew I loved them. Mother almost always had “fried cornbread” with them. My daddy taught me to put catsup on my white beans and mayonnaise on my fried cornbread. I have a big pot of beans cooking with a hambone right now. Ummmm! Ummmm! (I’ve given up the condiments with them.)
