In celebration of this new addition, Kraft Foods is giving away a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad to one lucky Southern Plate Family member along with the downloadable app to spice things up for moms and their kids during this holiday season.
But first, a little bit more on how the app can help you -and your the kids- out in the kitchen. The new content pack contains globally-inspired recipes, how-to videos, and a ton of tips and tricks from Marcus himself to show just how easy it is to get everyone involved in creating meals together. The new content is really Marcus designed the content pack to bring both parents and children into the kitchen to make cooking a family affair (and a fun one at that!)
And now for the fun part: bringing this virtual cookbook into the kitchens of your readers! Below are some screenshots of the app and a recipe from the new content pack.
The interface is colorful, interactive, informative, and FUN!

Disclaimer: I have not been financially compensated for this post. Kraft Foods and 360i are providing the iPad to the winner. Although I am showing a photo of shrimp and grits up there, I don’t personally eat seafood and I prefer my grits with sugar and butter. I also wish everyone a very merry Christmas and if I could I’d give each one of you an iPad! There, I’m done disclaiming for now 🙂

I make a Confetti Corn dish for Christmas dinner. It has corn, cream cheese, bacon and red and green bell peppers to make it festive looking. it is so good we always wonder why we seem to only have it at Christmas time. LOL
I love baking for the holidays! My papa and I use to make all sorts of pies: chocolate, pecan, egg custard. And I love baking cookies: sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, oatmeal raisin!
I like to make buckeye balls this time of year.
My favorite recipe is for peanut butter fudge. I have been making it for years and my family always requests it.
My favorite meal to make is what my 11 year-old son calls “that sausage, bean, and rice thing”, or “My favorite!”. It’s turkey smoked sausage browned with onions, garlic, cumin, red pepper flakes or cayenne
I love my grits with sugar and butter too, Christy!!! As far as my favorite thing to cook with my kids – it would be a scrumptious treat for afternoon snack – anything from chocolate chip cookies to no bake chocolate cookies. I have many special memories baking and cooking with my 4 children and then gobbling up the cookies while they are nice and warm.
My new favorite, after purchasing your delightful cookbook, is the Cheesy Chicken and Rice slow cooker recipe. Comfort food at its very best and soooo easy to make. As is usual when I try out a new recipe on my family, I ask them for their opinion – is it a keeper or not? They ALL loved it – definitely a keeper!
