  1. My favorite thing to make with my family is what we call “lakehouse chili.” My mom made it with supplies she had on hand at the lakehouse one time. It has become a family favorite. Upon eating it we made her tell us what she put in it. She even had to dig through the trash to recount some cans and ingredients she added! It is a great meal and reminds us of good family times.

  2. A favorite of ours to make is your recipe for chicken and dumplings. It’s one of those dishes that I had never made and with your help we have it often and love it!

  3. I love to bake things from my childhood for my Daddy. No matter what he has to “have” dessert with his supper. Even if it was just Jello and pound cake! I remember him bringing home things from the bakery outlet stores but he loved Christmas time when my mother made Vanilla Wafer Cake, Joy cake or any other family recipes. Every year at Christmas I dig out one of the recipes and make it just for Daddy. He turned 80 this year and is in good health so hopefully I will be baking for many years to come!

  4. My favorite is called Holiday Roll. Not sure if that is name but the recipe came from my grandmother. Usually make it during holidays only. Don’t know why because could eat it all year round. Similar to a cinnimon roll. You make a sweet yeast dough which rises twice, then roll it add, spread soft margerine, brown sugar, cinnimon, pecan and raisin if you want. Roll it up and bake. My family loves it and I am plannng on making one tomorrow for the weekend get together.

  5. My favorite recipe to make is chicken and sausage gumbo…totally from scratch (except for raising the chicken – lol!)

  6. I have become a Crock Pot enthusiast! Crock pot meat loaf and lasagna are the most requested by my bunch 🙂
