This holiday season, Kraft Foods teamed up with celeb Chef Marcus Samuelsson to bring in an exclusive recipe collection new content pack for on their iPad app Big Fork Little Fork. In celebration of this new addition, Kraft Foods is giving away a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad to one lucky Southern Plate Family member along with the downloadable app to spice things up for moms and their kids during this holiday season.
But first, a little bit more on how the app can help you -and your the kids- out in the kitchen. The new content pack contains globally-inspired recipes, how-to videos, and a ton of tips and tricks from Marcus himself to show just how easy it is to get everyone involved in creating meals together. The new content is really Marcus designed the content pack to bring both parents and children into the kitchen to make cooking a family affair (and a fun one at that!)
And now for the fun part: bringing this virtual cookbook into the kitchens of your readers! Below are some screenshots of the app and a recipe from the new content pack.
The interface is colorful, interactive, informative, and FUN!

No doubt about it….sausage balls. They are always the first thing to run out at the party!!!
Aunt Fanny’s Squash Casserole! It’s not from a family Aunt Fanny, it’s from the late, beloved restaurant in Smyrna, GA. It’s my signature dish, and my most-requested for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I love to make a family hand-me-down recipe for potato salad, that is only given to the women in the family! Ha ha, I have four children. Two girls, two boys and one of them is married All summer everytime we all grill, I am asked to make sure I do the potato salad. I always grab the women and make a big deal about how secret it is. I know the boys (men) will find a way to be around so they can watch. I am sure they could make it by, but they love letting us feel we have a secret. (And they love eating it all too).
Chocolate Chip Cookies are my favorite to make and are always the first to go! With my boys, half are usually gone before the cookies come off the cooling rack.
you may not believe this but my girls love meatloaf…i’m always the one that has to make it while they sit back and watch…but since they enjoy it so much i try to make it often….they have a friend that comes over and she will only eat my meat loaf…we were just talking about it last night while we were making hot chocolate, which is something they also like to make at christmas time…
I love making Sweet Potato Souffle, it is so rich we only have it on the Holiday’s. I can not wait for Christmas to get me a plate full.
My favorite is baking anything with my kids. We love to bake cakes and cookies. They are 5 and 4. I tell them the messier the kitchen (to an extent) the better the food!!! I love all of your recipes and praying Santa will bring me Southern Plate cookbook 😉 Thank you for all your hard work!
