Is shredded meat different than pulled meat?
And the answer is no. Shredded meat and pulled meat are truly the same, just different words to described what you are doing. So that’s why this tutorial on shredding meat can be used for any of your pulled meat recipes.

Southern Plate just keeps getting better…you’re injuries really hasn’t slowed you down! Pray for your full recovery. Can’t wait for your new book next month!
Thank you Carol!! I hope you like the new book!!
Great idea for chicken but would never do that for beef or pork. I can’t stand the thoughts of getting a bite of the fat. I have to use my hands and get all the fat out before making barbeque. I would rather use the time saved pulling apart the meat than washing the bowls and mixers. Good idea though for other things.
Take the fat out first!!! Then put it in the mixer. I always have to take the fat out for my husband!
I’m with you on the fats but I always take those off before I shred with 2 forks so you could do that before you drop into the mixing bowl
Thanks for the tip, Christy. My husband & I have arthritis & we have a difficult time shredding meat so this is a great idea. Don’t know why I didn’t think of it before. BTW, we enjoyed watching you on “In the Kitchen with David” last Sunday. Good luck with your new cookbook & continued get well wishes.
