Festive Snowman Pretzels

Hey friends! Today I’m sharing a short and sweet idea for some fun holiday treats. These Festive Snowman Pretzels are simple to make in a little assembly line and a great thing for kids to help with. I like to do things like this while I’m enjoying a cup of evening coffee.

To make these Festive Snowman Pretzels you’ll need: A bag of mini pretzel sticks, 8 ounces white candy melts (or white chocolate chips), milk chocolate candy melts (or chips), little pre-made candy cane decorating pieces if you’d like for the hats, a tube of black cookie icing and a tube of orange cookie icing – both may be found on the cake decorating aisle.
If you prefer, you can get some mini chocolate chips in place of the black for the eyes and buttons and some orange slice candies cut into little slivers in place of the orange for the nose. It will be a bit messier and you’ll have to use some white chocolate as “glue” to attach them but it is entirely doable.

- Line a cookie sheet with waxed or parchment paper. Place white candy melts or chips in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30-60 second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and melted.
- While the chocolate is melting group together 7 pretzel sticks for each Snowman
Once the white chocolate is melted, individually dip 6 pretzel sticks 3/4 of the way into the white chocolate. Place them onto the cookie sheet next to each other. Once all 6 have been dipped, repeat steps with the remaining pretzel groups. - Place tray into the freezer for 30 minutes.
- While pretzels are in the freezer melt the milk chocolate. Once the 30 minutes is up, pull tray out of the freezer. Carefully pick up Snowman face and dip the top 1/4 part of the pretzel into the milk chocolate. Place back onto cookie sheet and repeat steps with remaining snowman faces.
- Take the 7th pretzel and dip it fully into the chocolate, place on top of snowman face to form bill of hat (see photos). Carefully peel off the candy cane and place on the top corner of the hat before chocolate sets.
- Using the black icing, pipe eyes and his mouth. Using the orange icing, pipe on the nose. Let sit in the fridge for 1 hour before enjoying.
Can store in zipper seal bags at room temp once hardened if saving for a later date.

There are square pretzels available that are very easy to use and don’t depend on the chocolate to “glue” them together! :o)

Hey Linda! I hear from folks who have that problem from time to time but haven’t been able to hear back from any of them to help pinpoint what it might be. I haven’t changed anything on the site. Can you tell me if you are using an ipad or iphone, what browser you are using (safari, explorer, etc) and if you are on an iphone or ipad, what ios you are running? Any info will be greatly helpful!
