Homemade CinnaBuns

Is the dad in your life a fan of those mall cinnamon buns? This homemade version is sure to knock his socks off, and my shortcut makes them easy for everyone. Don’t forget to put a pinch of cinnamon in the cream cheese icing for that little extra oomph of flavor!

Slow cooker pork roast and veggies

This is my husband’s all time favorite meal and so very easy to prepare!

My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard.

Mother would come out and say, “You’re tearing up the grass”

“We’re not raising grass” Dad would reply, “We’re raising boys”

  1. We are going to have quite the weekend around here.
FRIDAY: Go to my brother’s with my parents and kids for a cook-out because bro will be out of state on Sunday.
SATURDAY: Youngest turns 9 so have birthday things to do.
SUNDAY: Take dad to dinner or have steaks at the house… he doesn’t know there is an option but working that out still with mom.
So as you can see, lots going on this weekend.

  2. All the food looks so good..my father has been gone since I was young, but I do remember a sandwich I made for him once. It was bologna and I was so proud, putting everything on it just so. I took it outside where Daddy was sitting and I recall his smile as I handed it to him. Imagine my horror as he took a bite and this red string came with it… I had forgotten to take the rind off the sides of the meat ( that’s how it came then) He laughed but I was so upset, as only a seven year old can be. After that I never failed to take the string off. Daddy was a wonderful man and though he has been gone over 50 years he lives on through those of us who were blessed enough to have known him.

  3. Thank you so much for the simply easy pound cake recipe. I had all the ingredients in my pantry without having to go to the store. I had my dad over for a Father’s Day cook-out and served this cake like you had suggested with fresh whipped cream and strawberries. Everyone loved it, especially my son who is not very fond of cakes, but he loved this one so much that he went back for a second piece which never happens. He ate the cake plain though because he doesn’t like strawberries and thought it was perfect. Thanks again!

I just discovered this website on Saturday by accident and I love it! I’ve marked it as one of my favorites. Your recipes remind me of my mother who is a great Southern cook.

  4. I was not able to see my dad yesterday but we did talk on the phone. (He’s a truck driver and was in New Orleans heading to Houston).

In his honor, I drank an RC Cola in a glass bottle and dropped a few peanuts down the spout. I remember that was my favorite treat when he drove me around in his blue Ford pick-up.
