Sounds like a great recipe! What other things might you serve them with?
They go great as a main dish or a side to most any meal 🙂
My husband made these today very quick and easy, I usually do the cooking but I have a bad cold and he put this together for supper on this cold day. He did put more weenies cause you know, more meat for guys the better! We almost finished them all, yum!
I woke up this past Monday with a hunger for some beans. I found this recipe and tried it. And I was pretty impressed! So much so that I am making it again tomorrow, just 4 days later. It reminds me of the beans and weenies my mother used to make. I add about 1/4 cup diced green peppers, a dash a Worcestershire sauce, and I also used less brown sugar. I also served a nice salad and garlic toast which IMO makes the meal!! The cool thing about cooking is that it is very much like an art form. You can add and subtract things from a recipe and come up with your own creation that fits your taste just a tad bit better. And playing around with a recipe such as substituting other meats for the hotdog such as bacon, ground beef, or shredded Boston butt can be fun as long as you don’t mess it up too bad! Lots of great ideas in the comments here! Thanks for all the great ideas!
I am so glad you liked the recipe Paul!!! I hope you have a blessed day!!
Dang it. Now I want the beans. I’m making this for dinner tomorrow!!
I read this and had all the ingredients, sooooo………guess what’s in the crockpot? 🙂 I didn’t have any hotdogs (which is odd for me), so I threw in some leftover shredded boston butt and smoked shredded chicken from yesterday’s BBQ.
Thanks for the recipe!

My Dad once told me “if every time you see a weed, you pull it. There will be no weeds in your yard. Same goes in life, take care of what comes up, don’t live in a life of weeds. “
Ohhh, that is a good one!! Thank you for sharing with me Bessie!!
