The Ingredients You’ll Need to Make this Cheese Soup recipe are:
- Borden® Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Butter, Heavy Cream (or milk)
- Onion
- Chicken Broth
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
Note: It is best not to use pre-shredded cheese for this as it won’t melt as well as the block cheese will.
While Brady handles the cheese grating, Katy is getting started with the first step over on the stovetop.
I am specifically using Borden® Cheese here because it is delicious, all natural, and is made by a cooperative of over 8,000 family owned dairy farms across the United States. The cheeses they offer include: Mild Cheddar, Mozzarella, Mexican, Swiss, Sharp Cheddar, American, Colby Jack, and more. They are available in singles, shreds, chunks, slices, strings, and snacks! This is creamy, flavorful, delicious cheese made in our homeland and it just makes every dish better.

We are a farming family. The days are long so dinner can be very late. No matter the time, we will eat together.
Love your recipes, they are down to earth and simple.Sure could use extra money for food and we do eat our evening meals together most days. And plan to keep doing so.
We are retired yet busy! However our favorite time of day is dinner together – especially on the patio – but simple or slow cooked, dinner using cheese is always our favorite!!
yes we love to eat together and we love that sharp cheese for most meals
Love eating together.. Just my hubby and me now. We will accept the challenge.
Growing up, we always had a proper meal at the dinner table every night. I raised my family the same way. Now that we are empty nesters, my husband and I still eat together at the dinner table. It’s the “together” time when we share our day with each other.
We are a busy family with a very active teenager, but we find every moment to have dinner together as a family. We value that time together and love making those memories. It is also a wonderful way to keep the legacy of Southern Family Recipes alive!!
