Hey friends! I’m so excited to be bringing you a recipe that my kids are excited to share today, courtesy of Borden® Cheese! This Cheese Soup is one of my kid’s favorite meals. They love that everyone can customize the flavor of their own bowl and they also love to make it as a family, which makes supper even more fun!

cheese soup ingredients

The Ingredients You’ll Need to Make this Cheese Soup recipe are:

  • Borden® Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Butter, Heavy Cream (or milk)
  • Onion
  • Chicken Broth
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika

Note: It is best not to use pre-shredded cheese for this as it won’t melt as well as the block cheese will.

brady and katy cooking

While Brady handles the cheese grating, Katy is getting started with the first step over on the stovetop.

I am specifically using Borden® Cheese here because it is delicious, all natural, and is made by a cooperative of over 8,000 family owned dairy farms across the United States. The cheeses they offer include: Mild Cheddar, Mozzarella, Mexican, Swiss, Sharp Cheddar, American, Colby Jack, and more. They are available in singles, shreds, chunks, slices, strings, and snacks! This is creamy, flavorful, delicious cheese made in our homeland and it just makes every dish better.

  1. We raised our two girls with an emphasis on family meal time with no TV, phones, or electronic games allowed. They are grown and have families of their own now but the youngest lives nearby and still comes over every Tuesday for “family” dinner with us. This will be a great soup to prepare and enjoy as a family.
