Cheese Soup – Customize Each Bowl!

The Ingredients You’ll Need to Make this Cheese Soup recipe are:
- Borden® Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Butter, Heavy Cream (or milk)
- Onion
- Chicken Broth
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
Note: It is best not to use pre-shredded cheese for this as it won’t melt as well as the block cheese will.

I am specifically using Borden® Cheese here because it is delicious, all natural, and is made by a cooperative of over 8,000 family owned dairy farms across the United States. This cheese soup is as simple as can be to make.
- Melt butter in a medium stock pot over medium heat.
- Add onions and cook, stirring often, until browned.
- Add in broth, cream, and seasonings.
- Reduce to simmer and cook, stirring often, for about ten minutes.
- Add in shredded cheese and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted.

- 1 onion chopped
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cup broth
- 2 cups cream
- 16 ounces Borden® Sharp Cheddar Cheese shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste I use 1/2 teaspoon each
Instructions
- In medium stock pot, melt 1/4 cup butter. Add onions and cook, stirring often, until lightly browned.
- Pour in broth and cream. Add seasonings. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring often, ten minutes.
- Stir in shredded cheese. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted.
- Serve in bowls and allow family members to customize their own bowl with toppings of their choice such as: Pizza toppings and sauce, pasta, veggies, bacon, etc.

I grew up with Elsie the Cow and Borden’s. They do make good cheese.
I’m having to incorporate more dairy into my meal-planning since I’ve come up with low bone density. This recipe looks like it would be a delicious addition to my recipe collection. It’s even appropriate for Lent!

Broccoli cheese soup is my very favorite and Borden is my go-to cheese brand because it comes from family-oriented producers. It is very important that families sit down to a healthy meal at supper time or at any meal they can. In this busy, hurry-up world that seems to be impossible for many of us but I try to have family supper often as I can.
We have lots of family coming to visit for Easter weekend with lots of kids. Thanks for the SUPER SUPPER idea! Keep the little ones busy and eating healthy!
Will have to try this recipe when one of my grandchildren isn’t with me. They are lactose intolerant and the cream would really do a number on her.
