The Ingredients You’ll Need to Make this Cheese Soup recipe are:
- Borden® Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Butter, Heavy Cream (or milk)
- Onion
- Chicken Broth
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
Note: It is best not to use pre-shredded cheese for this as it won’t melt as well as the block cheese will.
While Brady handles the cheese grating, Katy is getting started with the first step over on the stovetop.
I am specifically using Borden® Cheese here because it is delicious, all natural, and is made by a cooperative of over 8,000 family owned dairy farms across the United States. The cheeses they offer include: Mild Cheddar, Mozzarella, Mexican, Swiss, Sharp Cheddar, American, Colby Jack, and more. They are available in singles, shreds, chunks, slices, strings, and snacks! This is creamy, flavorful, delicious cheese made in our homeland and it just makes every dish better.
This cheese soup is as simple as can be to make.

- Add onions and cook, stirring often, until browned.

- Reduce to simmer and cook, stirring often, for about ten minutes.
- Add in shredded cheese and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted.

I’m excited to make this soup. I like that everyone can customize it to their own tastes. It is always so satisfying to sit down to family dinners.
Our son is grown, but we still sit down to eat supper together every night, and Sunday dinner to boot! This is partly why I am on a perpetual diet though!
Looks awesome! Thanks Christy!
Thank you for issuing this challenge. I accept! We will attempt to sit down together with whatever family is here at supper time!
We try to have dinner at the kitchen table at least 3 times a week. It’s a special time for us to keep connected. And have a yummy supper
