Hey friends! I’m so excited to be bringing you a recipe that my kids are excited to share today, courtesy of Borden® Cheese! This Cheese Soup is one of my kid’s favorite meals. They love that everyone can customize the flavor of their own bowl and they also love to make it as a family, which makes supper even more fun!

cheese soup ingredients

The Ingredients You’ll Need to Make this Cheese Soup recipe are:

  • Borden® Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Butter, Heavy Cream (or milk)
  • Onion
  • Chicken Broth
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika

Note: It is best not to use pre-shredded cheese for this as it won’t melt as well as the block cheese will.

brady and katy cooking

While Brady handles the cheese grating, Katy is getting started with the first step over on the stovetop.

I am specifically using Borden® Cheese here because it is delicious, all natural, and is made by a cooperative of over 8,000 family owned dairy farms across the United States. The cheeses they offer include: Mild Cheddar, Mozzarella, Mexican, Swiss, Sharp Cheddar, American, Colby Jack, and more. They are available in singles, shreds, chunks, slices, strings, and snacks! This is creamy, flavorful, delicious cheese made in our homeland and it just makes every dish better.

  2. Challenge accepted, we eat as a family most nights. My 21 year old granddaughter is working two jobs so she can pay off her house in July shares dinner with us most nights, if she’s not working a double shift. No phones or T.V., just good food and great conversations.

  3. What a wonderful challenge. My Mom worked for Borden Dairy for years and I remember all the wonderful things she would bring home including giant blocks of cheese – yummy. Nothing better than a big bowl of cheese soup customized to your liking. I long for those days of a family sitting down to dinner. My kids are grown and living on their own so I really treasure those times when they are able to come over and we can sit down as a family for a great meal.
