The Ingredients You’ll Need to Make this Cheese Soup recipe are:
- Borden® Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Butter, Heavy Cream (or milk)
- Onion
- Chicken Broth
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
Note: It is best not to use pre-shredded cheese for this as it won’t melt as well as the block cheese will.
While Brady handles the cheese grating, Katy is getting started with the first step over on the stovetop.
I am specifically using Borden® Cheese here because it is delicious, all natural, and is made by a cooperative of over 8,000 family owned dairy farms across the United States. The cheeses they offer include: Mild Cheddar, Mozzarella, Mexican, Swiss, Sharp Cheddar, American, Colby Jack, and more. They are available in singles, shreds, chunks, slices, strings, and snacks! This is creamy, flavorful, delicious cheese made in our homeland and it just makes every dish better.
This cheese soup is as simple as can be to make.

- Add onions and cook, stirring often, until browned.

- Reduce to simmer and cook, stirring often, for about ten minutes.
- Add in shredded cheese and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted.

I love family time!! This soup looks delicious!
I believe that one of the things wrong with our country now days is that family is no longer the focus. I believe that one of the most important things that you can do for your children is have dinner together every night and talk to your kids and hear about their day. I am retired now, but even when I worked we had supper around the table every night. Even if it’s something simple like pizza, spaghetti, or just chips and dip.
Eating with the family is the best part of any day. We love having the kids and now grandchildren all around the table. Thanks for the cheese soup recipe. Looks great.
This looks simple and delicious! I also love how easy it is to customize to the picky tastes of each family member. =)
Can’t wait to try this!
