Learn to make flavorful, fall-apart tender crock pot beef ribs!
These slow cooker beef ribs are the perfect recipe for fall-off-the-bone tender ribs. The best part is, you can enjoy them with your family without heating up the kitchen or standing over a grill.
One of my favorite ways to slow cook meat is by using a combination of bottled barbecue sauce, fresh lemon, fresh onion, and a bottle or can of Coca Cola. Yep, coke is my secret ingredient! Each ingredient plays a key role in tenderizing and infusing the meat with flavor and the blend of the four together is finger-licking good.
Of course, being able to toss and go makes this an even better recipe. Throw it in before you head out for the day and have a barbecue feast waiting when you come home! But if you wanted to make them in the oven, here is my recipe for oven-baked baby back ribs.
Super easy and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. What more could you want, right? If you’re on the hunt for more easy slow cooker recipes to enjoy, this post features 13 slow cooker recipes to get you started!

How to Make Crock Pot Beef Ribs
Place the ribs in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Pour the barbecue sauce over (reserve about 1/2 cup). Pour the coke over. Toss in the lemon and onion.
(As long as your ribs will easily fit in this slow cooker, the number of ingredients are the same).
Cook this on low for 7-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
I prefer to go on the longer end of cooking time so that the meat is extra tender. So for me, that would be low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
Serve with reserved bbq sauce for dipping or topping.
Yum! There is so much flavor in this fall-apart tender beef!
Enjoy! I like to serve these with my perfect roasted vegetables to keep the meal low fuss and delicious.
Storage
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. You can either reheat in the microwave or oven.
- You can also freeze leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before following the above reheating instructions.
Recipe Notes
- If you like, you can caramelize your bbq ribs under the broiler in your oven after slow cooking. It only takes a few minutes, but this will ensure they’re nice and caramelized before serving. However, this step isn’t necessary. You can also put them on the grill for a few minutes too, if you prefer.
- For more spice, add a tablespoon of cayenne pepper.
- To make this an even easier recipe without unnecessary clean-up, use a slow cooker liner in your crockpot. You can find them in your grocery store where you get the aluminum foil and plastic bags.
- If you prefer Dr. instead of Coca Cola, you can totally use a can of that instead.

Congratulations!
I didn’t cry…we felt wonderful about our daughters decision and knew we had done our job well.
It’s a blessing.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I have seriously been wondering if I was a horrible mother because I didn’t cry and was just happy for him!
You can be sure you’ve raised a child right when you can have such confidence in him dropping him off at college. You’re giving me hope that my day might go smoothly (I’m already dreading it and he’s only twelve!). 😉
Hang in there, Mama! You got this and God’s got you! Thank you for being here and for your sweet words 🙂
I can relate, my girl is only 8! I am so impressed by your perspective. My prayer is that my daughter will be so ready that I won’t be heartbroken or sad. Such a great example, thank you Christy for a glimpse of what it can look like to send your child off with joy.
Go Lions! Went there when it was Florence State College so long ago but it was great!
I’ve always loved it as well. We were thrilled when he decided to go there – and even more so when he got a scholarship to help 😉
What a blessing to see a child doing what you feel they are called to do. You got through the day without crying, but your story brought tears to my eyes.
Amen and thank you for visiting with me and sharing my heart in this 🙂
Congratulations to Brady flying the coop and don’t worry, this momma cried for you while reading your post!
Congrats on becoming a Lion parent!! Our youngest daughter and her husband (she met him there) & graduated from UNA. She was a Lionette and a Phi Mu, her hubby was a Sigma Chi. Also, she completed the Disney College Program too and was even offered a job there at Disney but we made her come. back to UNA to graduate. We adore UNA & tailgated quite a bit up there. So love those fabulous and caring Professors & Staff there!! Brady will be so blessed with getting his degreee there!! Such fun times he will have❤️
Thank you!!!! It’s so exciting to see another parent shower such praise on UNA. I’ve always loved it but I have to admit, as a parent, I’m even more impressed 🙂
Oh my goodness, one little bird flew the nest! How exciting! I can imagine just how proud you are of him. Also, those ribs look scrumptious. 🙂
Thank you, Aileen!! Yup, one has flown the coop but he’s sailing around in gorgeous blue skies. It’s always a joy to see you here and I sure appreciate all the years you’ve stuck with me!
I’ve watched Brady & Katy grow up through your posts… you & Ricky are great parents and have given them an awesome foundation, so I know how proud y’all are of Brady… it’s so exciting to see how little birds grow up and leave the nest….
This recipe is amazing!! ❤️❤️❤️
I want to make this,
But isn’t it really greasy using ribs ? Do you just pour the grease out after it is cooked?
I have made this for years, except no lemon or Cola Cola. Will try this with these two other ingredients. My men love this and it serves a lot of people.
