A few weeks back I posted about my back to school resolution and how it has become a challenge in the middle of my ever growing schedule to find time to make supper each night. I’ve employed some creative solutions such as cooking up meals ahead of time, freezing, and using my slow cooker more. I’ve even tried ~takes a breath~ planning. I hate that part of it. I’m really a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gal when it comes to supper. I like to just wait and see what I’m in the mood for when it comes time to cook. I also don’t enjoy cooking ahead as that takes the fun out of getting to cook each night for me, but I’m working on developing new habits in order to be able to adjust to a more demanding work schedule and still keep family the top priority – and it’s working.
Today, I’d like for you to tell me how your back to school resolutions are going and we have a special treat for those who leave a comment!
The wonderful folks at Nestle are teaming up with me

My one daughter is 51 and my two grandchildren are 21 & 18, so I’m not on that busy schedule like you are. I don’t know how you do it. I would love to have that Nook if you happen to draw my name. Thanks, Christy, for your recipes.
Would love to win .
have a great day !
I like to cook ahead on Sunday for a busy week. Boiled chickens tonight and will put in freezer for other meals. Really, we just try to maintain and keep floatin’.
I pick up my 2 of my grandkids from school.. and with them both involved in sports, one in soccer and the other in soccer and football.. it is all their mom can do to get off work and get them back to their practices.. so I,( sweet Nonna I am, LOL) .. go ahead and feed them dinner before she picks them up.. and of course mom comes in and eats most days also.. our back to school resolution..is: just to make it thru soccer and football time .. and then get back to “normal” life… LOL..
oh and I love to read ..so WINNING theNOOK READER would BE WONDERFUL!!!
I would love to win the Nook for my 10 year old. She is an all year honor roll student who loves to read. It would be a great reward for her and fuel her passion for reading!
I wish that I had “back to school” things to do again….But my 2 boys are grown up and married now. Oh how I miss those days. New school clothes shopping, all the school supplies, even getting back into the up early and early to bed routines.
Well, I’m a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kinda gal, too. So, I can totally relate to the dinner planning thing. The best thing of done for the new school year is having everything ready to go the night before, including lunches. With 3 boys that have to be out the door at one time, my mornings have become a lot less hectic by having them pull their lunch boxes out of the fridge & we’re off with no worries!
