A few weeks back I posted about my back to school resolution and how it has become a challenge in the middle of my ever growing schedule to find time to make supper each night. I’ve employed some creative solutions such as cooking up meals ahead of time, freezing, and using my slow cooker more. I’ve even tried ~takes a breath~ planning. I hate that part of it. I’m really a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gal when it comes to supper. I like to just wait and see what I’m in the mood for when it comes time to cook. I also don’t enjoy cooking ahead as that takes the fun out of getting to cook each night for me, but I’m working on developing new habits in order to be able to adjust to a more demanding work schedule and still keep family the top priority – and it’s working.

Today, I’d like for you to tell me how your back to school resolutions are going and we have a special treat for those who leave a comment!

  1. Our families resolution was to stick to schedule.abs have more structure, and it was going wonderfully until this week. This week had just been a off week and we have family in from North Carolina (Go Heels!!) so it’s been even more so chaotic but so worth it!! But just having this one week where we are off our schedule had really driven home how wonderful it is to be on schedule, not a rigid one but still a guideline. Thanks for the opportunity 🙂

  2. Hi Christy. Would love to win. My back to school resolutions are going okay. Trying to establish my family’s routine and get thru afterschool activities, which take up most of our evenings lately.

  3. It is always a challenge to find time to work, go to practices, do homework and cook something good. If all else fails, breakfast food for supper is always fast and good!

  4. Christy, I also love books and would love to have a Nook so I could download cookbooks like yours on it. Am I weird for liking to read cookbooks or are there others like me out there? I love your cookbook and use it all the time, love every recipe I’ve tried. Can’t wait for the new one you are writing! Keep up the good work. Thank you for all you do. You make me smile every day.

  5. I am excited to know I am just minutes away from such an awesome cook and author. No longer do we have to learn true Southern recipes and techniques at the knees of our mothers and grandmothers. Thank you for sharing the goodness with us.
