A few weeks back I posted about my back to school resolution and how it has become a challenge in the middle of my ever growing schedule to find time to make supper each night. I’ve employed some creative solutions such as cooking up meals ahead of time, freezing, and using my slow cooker more. I’ve even tried ~takes a breath~ planning. I hate that part of it. I’m really a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gal when it comes to supper. I like to just wait and see what I’m in the mood for when it comes time to cook. I also don’t enjoy cooking ahead as that takes the fun out of getting to cook each night for me, but I’m working on developing new habits in order to be able to adjust to a more demanding work schedule and still keep family the top priority – and it’s working.
Today, I’d like for you to tell me how your back to school resolutions are going and we have a special treat for those who leave a comment!

So far I have achieved my Back to School Goal: Say yes to my grandkids! Within reason, of course.
No kids, so not really back to school, but I am trying to make it a policy that I cook every night and we do not eat out! Thank you for all your recipes!!
All my kids are grown and I’m the one who has gone back to school full-time. I try to prepare my lunch the night before and have everything ready so that I can just put it all in my lunch bag before I go out the door each morning. I’m actually not doing a lot of cooking throughout the week, but enjoy preparing your quick and easy recipes on the weekends. I love your book and have shared it with the most important women in my life. Thank you for all the great recipes.
My new school year resolution is for my children not to be late for anything. I think my middle name is late it always has been! So I’m trying really hard to change that! I have done well so far. No tardies for school, football, dance, GIrl Scouts, Science Club, etc.! It’s a challenge each day. But I’m determined to show my children the importance of being on time to whatever you are doing! Not just because you get after school dentintion if you aren’t! 🙂
My back to school resolution is to have a better attitude while waiting in the LONG car line at my son and daughter’s school. I used to hate that time and found it to be such a waste (note the poor attitude). Now, I use that quiet time to make my grocery shopping list, cut coupons, and organize my coupons. I also find time to browse a few magazines in order to decide what to get to complete my children’s fall and winter wardrobes.
Would love to win the NOOK; it sure would come in handy during the days that I dont go “shopping”!
We have started packing lunches and trying to incorporate new meals into our menus at home. Thanks for the chance!
