Gratefully,

A few weeks back I posted about my back to school resolution and how it has become a challenge in the middle of my ever growing schedule to find time to make supper each night. I’ve employed some creative solutions such as cooking up meals ahead of time, freezing, and using my slow cooker more. I’ve even tried ~takes a breath~ planning. I hate that part of it. I’m really a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gal when it comes to supper. I like to just wait and see what I’m in the mood for when it comes time to cook. I also don’t enjoy cooking ahead as that takes the fun out of getting to cook each night for me, but I’m working on developing new habits in order to be able to adjust to a more demanding work schedule and still keep family the top priority – and it’s working.

Today, I’d like for you to tell me how your back to school resolutions are going and we have a special treat for those who leave a comment!

  1. Oh My Gosh! A Nook? That’s the only thing my daughter has asked for as a Christmas gift. It sure would be nice to win it and be able to buy her something else equally as nice. She’d be one happy girl!

  2. School is going great! I have a wonderful kid who really likes to learn. She is actually my niece but feels like one of my children. She lost both her parents at an early age but with the help of God she is doing really good.
We are making meals, sharing recipes, and doing a ton of Fall things. I love this time of year. I love your site and I have your cook book but I am waiting until Cold weather to snuggle down and have complete time to absorb every page. Keep up the good work. You are a winner. love Ella

  3. I have your cookbook and I really enjoy your recipes and your website. I share your recipes with my sister who has cerebral palsey and doesn’t use a computer. We enjoy your recipes together.

  4. Hey Christy!! I love you blog and check it everyday! No school for me, however I always loved going back to school and seeing old friends that I havent seen throughout the summer.

  5. Hi Christy, so far so good. My back to school resolution is I prepare different meats on Sunday and freeze them; throughout the week I only have to take a meat out in the fridge to thaw and prepare a side when I get home. I utilize your recipe box and some other blogspots I love for recipes to add some variety. I’m a single mom with two busy teens, and I’m taking two college courses as well. But so far all is well and like you I utilize my crockpot a lot more.
