A few weeks back I posted about my back to school resolution and how it has become a challenge in the middle of my ever growing schedule to find time to make supper each night. I’ve employed some creative solutions such as cooking up meals ahead of time, freezing, and using my slow cooker more. I’ve even tried ~takes a breath~ planning. I hate that part of it. I’m really a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gal when it comes to supper. I like to just wait and see what I’m in the mood for when it comes time to cook. I also don’t enjoy cooking ahead as that takes the fun out of getting to cook each night for me, but I’m working on developing new habits in order to be able to adjust to a more demanding work schedule and still keep family the top priority – and it’s working.
Today, I’d like for you to tell me how your back to school resolutions are going and we have a special treat for those who leave a comment!

I absolutely love what you said, “cooking up meals ahead of time, freezing, and using my slow cooker more. I’ve even tried ~takes a breath~ planning. I hate that part of it. I’m really a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gal when it comes to supper. I like to just wait and see what I’m in the mood for when it comes time to cook ” I am a Grandma of 11 – it’s been years since I sent kids off to school, but the concept of cooking ahead of time, planning your meals and making a shopping list before going to the store are essential to a frustration free environment for any busy individual, whether you be a parent or just someone with a busy life.
Don’t have children at home any more to have to get ready for school or their activities. However, I am always reading and wanting to learn more about things I don’t know. I’m sure if I had the “Nook” I’d do more reading.
Enjoy all the recipes your site has to offer using things we have in the pantry -usually nothing out of the ordinary but the end result is anything but ordinary. Always delicious and lets others think you’ve been in the kitchen all day.
Keep up the good work.
OH! As much as I read, a NOOK would be fun fun fun! Of course, I will always love holding books, but this could be super neat. Thus I have to enter, and PLAN supper! I know I saw some of your recipes I need to try out!
