A few weeks back I posted about my back to school resolution and how it has become a challenge in the middle of my ever growing schedule to find time to make supper each night. I’ve employed some creative solutions such as cooking up meals ahead of time, freezing, and using my slow cooker more. I’ve even tried ~takes a breath~ planning. I hate that part of it. I’m really a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gal when it comes to supper. I like to just wait and see what I’m in the mood for when it comes time to cook. I also don’t enjoy cooking ahead as that takes the fun out of getting to cook each night for me, but I’m working on developing new habits in order to be able to adjust to a more demanding work schedule and still keep family the top priority – and it’s working.
Today, I’d like for you to tell me how your back to school resolutions are going and we have a special treat for those who leave a comment!

Southern Plate.com is my favorite website. Thanks for all the great recipes you share with us.
My son and I moved into an apartment and he is now attending a public high school for the first time since 4th grade. It has been a big adjustment for the both of us but we are loving it!
I made the resolution to use my slow cooker more and to spend more quality time with my son. Living in the apartment has helped because my commute time to and from work is 10 minutes instead of 30 minutes! I know 20 minutes does not seem like a lot but it really makes a difference!
Love the website and love you Christy!

My son drops off my grandson each morning (He is a single parent) and I cook his breakfast and take him to school. I plan what I’m going to have each morning at the beginning of the week. If I’m makeing biscuits I set the timer so the oven will be hot . I also make pancakes and put them in the freezer so all I have to do is warm them up.
Hi! Love your recipes, esp the pictures and step by step directions! Would love to win a Nook!
I know back to school this year has been really stressful!… I don’t think I am doing good at keeping them lol.
Hey Christy, I’m an avid reader and would love to have a NOOK. Love your recipes!
My husband is a chef so luckily, I dont ever have to cook, because I really dont enjoy it at all, or really have the time since I work a lot. I admire those that can make the time to prepare a meal for your family!!
