A few weeks back I posted about my back to school resolution and how it has become a challenge in the middle of my ever growing schedule to find time to make supper each night. I’ve employed some creative solutions such as cooking up meals ahead of time, freezing, and using my slow cooker more. I’ve even tried ~takes a breath~ planning. I hate that part of it. I’m really a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gal when it comes to supper. I like to just wait and see what I’m in the mood for when it comes time to cook. I also don’t enjoy cooking ahead as that takes the fun out of getting to cook each night for me, but I’m working on developing new habits in order to be able to adjust to a more demanding work schedule and still keep family the top priority – and it’s working.

Today, I’d like for you to tell me how your back to school resolutions are going and we have a special treat for those who leave a comment!

  1. No back to school resolutions for me, but my husband and I have resolved to eat at home more often and to eat heathier. So far so good!

  2. My resolution is to help makes my gandson’s first “real” school year to be the best ever! Grandparent’s day, book fairs, PTO sell’s, etc.!

  3. Hey Christy i am so thankful for my family today.. I am so glad that i was referred to your site by my aunt in MS. I recently moved to Pennsylvania a year ago and it’s nice to be able to read post from a southern girl and just reading your stories behind the recipes sometime makes me homesick but i love them… Thank you so much for all that you do. I am like you with the cooking what i feel like. lol I recently started selling Celebrating Home and we have something called a Bean Pot. I have used mine alot since school because you can cook meals in the microwave in 15 minutes. So a few days a week i will use this. Other days i try to do a smoked chicken and make a meal of it and then the next day do chicken salad subs. So this works for me… Thanks

  4. So far our back to school resolutions are not coming together real well. We are trying however & have used a couple of the recipes from your site (they are delicious!). Need to just buckle down & spend one weekend cooking up meals that can be frozen for later. But what would we do with out all the chaos? 😉

  5. Three times a week we all sit down as a family and eat dinner. On Italian night we listen to Frank Sinatra while we eat, the girls love it!
