This recipe is actually quite easy. The most difficult and time consuming part is simply peeling and “chipping” the apples. In no time at all you will be wowing folks with your apple pie.

How to Make Apple Pie:
Prepare your pie crust like this
SMELL this now, its getting there! Go ahead and eat a coated apple slice!
After you’ve sealed them together (see left side of pic), fold the edges over and crimp them with your fingers or use a fork, whichever you prefer (see right side of pic).
Melt some butter and brush it over the crust then sprinkle a bit of sugar on top to make it even prettier!
Cover pie in foil and cut and peel back the center so mainly the outer edges are covered. Return to oven and bake for an additional 45-55 minutes.
Enjoy your delicious apple pie! We suggest eating with a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream 🙂
Ingredients
- 1 Package Pilsbury Pie Crusts
- 9-10 apples two different kinds, one Granny Smith
- 1/4 Cup Apple Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 3/4 Cup Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Corn Starch
- dash of salt
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425. Roll one pie crust out into pie plate. Peel and chip apples into large mixing bowl. In separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients and stir to blend. Combine all liquid ingredients in another bowl and stir to blend. Pour dry and liquid over apples and stir well.
- Place in oven and bake 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cover entire pie with foil. Cut slits in center of foil and peel back so mainly the outer edge is covered (to prevent it from burning). Reduce heat to 375 and continue baking for 45-55 minutes or until golden.

me and my grandma are making it today
Well I started dieting last week and thought there goes Christy Jordan….but then I thought why when I can still bake and just give them away…..and have a cheat day here and there ; ). So today I am making this and a blueberry pie (going to see if I can use this recipe and just omit the vanilla and allspice and wing it….I say as I cringe in fear). Aside from pumpkin I have never made a pie, but I am going to get daring today lol.
Gotta get this made this fall for sure! Love your pie plates! Perfect for apple pie bakin’! And of course I loved the pic of Katy Rose and Brady! Now all I have to do is find some ‘butte’ to melt and I am good to go! Please don’t correct that….it gave me something to hoot about! ~snickers~ I feel the same way about sharing recipes with folks and I can’t say why, but I found my eyes gettin’ misty when I read the part about this recipe being mine now! Love ya bunches & bunches!
I will have to try this one!!
I hope you enjoy it Karen!
We made your apple flautas, oh my, they were so good. I will be trying this recipe sans sugar, since my father is a diabetic. If you use sweet apples instead, no added sugar pies are quite tasty. I bet this one with the vanilla will be scrumptious. Can’t wait to try it!
I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed the flautas! I hope you like the pie too!!
This is my favorite apple pie recipe and I’m looking forward to making it after visiting the apple orchard this weekend!! I’ll just have to remember when I look the recipe up in my ZipList recipe box to look for “Mama” {giggles} 😉
Have a piece for me!!
