“If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch you must first invent the universe.”

Christy you will not believe this. I have been looking for this recipe for almost 40 years! Let me explain.
I graduated college in 1981 not long after a “dorm friend” made this wonderful apple bread for me. That crunchy topping got to all the girls that night! We asked for the recipe but never got it. Now I have googled this obviously memorable recipe every way imaginable over the years, trying to find the one with the crispy top. Might have known my friend Christy would have it. (Now if I can only find stovetop quiche)! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I hope you get the chance to make one soon!!! Enjoy!
I made your apple pie last year after going apple picking, and it was the best I’d ever had (homemade or storebought). I think I know what I’m doing this weekend! 😉
P.S. I’m making your Country Chowder tomorrow!
Thanks Christy for some great apple recipes……can’t wait to make the apple dapple cake:). Then the apple spice muffins…..both of these would be so good with a morning cup of coffee 🙂
