Before I get to the 5 Min Prep S’Mores Brownies: I get a lot of questions from folks on Facebook, comments on the site, and email asking how I’m doing and how I’ve been since the accident. When last I left off, I had taken my first steps and was learning to walk again.
You’ll need: Brownie mix (and ingredients needed to make it), graham crackers, chocolate chips, and either marshmallow cream or marshmallows.
And butter. You need butter. Margarine will work just fine.
~I wrote something incredibly funny and creative here but realized it would spawn a lot of emails from folks not as gifted as we are with a sense of humor, so I deleted it. *sigh* This is why I’m way funnier in person…or around large groups of folks who don’t have access to my email address 😉 ~
I am using the 8×8 package of brownie mix but you can use the 9×13 if you like, just double the marshmallows, chocolate chips, and graham crackers.
Line baking dish with graham crackers (you don’t have to grease it).
Melt your butter and brush it over the tops of the graham crackers.
Prepare brownie batter according to package directions and spread on top of graham crackers. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
Bake according to package directions. Remove from oven and turn broiler on low.
This is a horrible picture but we are in the middle of our third winter so far this year 😉 So bear with me
Sprinkle marshmallows all over top or drop marshmallow cream by dollops over top, then gently spread to edges.
Sprinkling Marshmallows over the top would be easier and quicker, but for this tutorial I didn’t have them, only marshmallow cream leftover from fudge making at Christmas time. So I went with what I have. No sense in making a special trip when you can make do instead!
Place under broiler (at least six inches away from it) for 1-2 minutes, or until lightly browned on top. Watch carefully and do not leave unattended while it is browning because this will happen fast.
Allow to cool sligtly.
Cut, serve, enjoy!

Mmmmm! The “crisp’ peeled off easily & the underneath tastes great! No scorched taste at all! Happy that I didn’t have to throw it out & waste the $$. sure looked bad, but yummy!
wowowow! My broiler must be lots different than most! After 10-15 seconds I smelled what reminded me of burning marshmallows at a campfire & yikes mine were literally flaming. I quickly put them on the patio table (outside) & then a nearby crow started “laughing” at me! Luckily, the smoke detector was in a different room so that wasn’t a problem too! I may be able to salvage them after scraping the “black char” off them, but oh well. I had my broiler on low & the rack was as low as it could go! Hmmmmm? Maybe “toast” them in the oven next time! 🙂 Thankful I didn’t have to call 911!!!
I love the brownie recipe& I love people shining. ….true colors
and all. …its the way it should be in this dim mostly dark world
we live in today. So happy your doing well from the past
wreck. You’re shiny heart is glowing all the way up here
in good ol’ West Virginia Mountaineer Country. …and I love it!
You’re always my favorite country cook & the inspiration YOU give is
priceless. Love ya…. and that sweet lil family of yours as well.
Thank you so much for your encouragements Christy.. I to have constant pain from arthritis eating up the bones in my feet. It is very difficult to walk and is constant pain. Your words have let me see that I still need to shine and not be a pain for those around me and for myself.
Your site is one I read all the time..

I will look at the brownie recipe in a few (know it will be fabulous), but had to stop and comment after reading your thoughts on shinning. I so love and appreciate you for sharing your encouraging articles. They really make a difference in my life and the lives of others as I share copies with those around me when applicable. I struggle with being upbeat and happy when life throws curves my way but my desire is to be more like you. Your articles help me focus on that and reminds me to keep on keeping on. I thank God for the healing He has provided for you and pray for His continued blessings on you and your family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Made these last night…so glad I wasn’t going for bloodwork this morning, LOL! Between the melted butter, the extra chocolate chips ( Yup, the only brownie mix I had on hand was ‘double chocolate’ with chocolate chips in the batter, and you know I followed the recipe as written and added chips on top of the batter..hee hee! ) and the marshmallow cream, these were well over and way beyond the top! The salted butter with the graham crackers reminded me a wee bit of pretzels and was a nice contrast to the sweetness. My daughter’s Girl Scout troop would flip over these! I promised my daughter Erin, that I would make them for one of our upcoming meetings- one which I will NOT be attending, because I really don’t want to be there after these brownies bring on the inevitable sugar rush and ensuing craziness that this troop is known for…God love ’em! Thanks for the inspirational message and a great recipe. You are awesome!
